Co-owned by Robert De Niro, Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and producer Meir Teper, the Shoreditch outpost of the Nobu empire opened in 2017 on Willow Street and pairs the group's signature new-style Japanese cooking with a bar program that filters the classics through a Japanese lens. The house take on the Negroni, the Oni, swaps Campari for Aperol and adds a measure of Hokusetsu sake to Tanqueray gin and Antica Formula vermouth, producing a lighter, lychee-tinged drink with a notably creamy finish. Served in the lobby lounge and on the secret courtyard terrace, it's an unmistakably East London riff on the Milanese template.
